Who we are

Berea Placements is more than just putting personnel in positions. Working with people means working with dreams. For both employer and employee any decision is influenced by its future consequences. At Berea matching an employer with an employee is not only a serious responsibility, but also a privilege. It is about positive change in the lives of everyone involved in the placement process. With some 30 years’ experience, the people at Berea are confident about one thing: people. It is about understanding what someone’s needs are and having the knowledge and expertise to fulfil those needs. The company was established in Bloemfontein in the Free State in 1990 by Mrs Emile Morkel and was initially involved in the placing of temporary nursing staff.  Over the past three decades, Berea has grown to provide a comprehensive staff placement service country-wide with a staff database of more than 8000 people.

The Berea approach rests on two pillars: humanity and dignity. Caring for and about people allows Berea to connect the right people, enabling them to grow together. One core value runs through all that Berea does: love. The company has a proud Christian ethos and inspiration is drawn from the Biblical imperative to love one another; to care for one another. In practice this love is made visible through every action. Proof of this is found in Berea’s excellent track record and satisfied clients. From their offices in Bloemfontein and Cape Town, Berea Placements is able to handle contracts ranging in scope from private individuals, Provincial and Government contracts, to Private and Corporate sectors.

Being kind implies respect for the needs and desires of others, but it also implies assertive actions. Making decisions that will benefit all parties involved requires wisdom, skill and experience. At Berea this is achieved through understanding the individuals involved, the immediate context as well as the environment. Berea prides itself on knowing the area where clients require service. From a city or town’s cultural make-up to economic and historical aspects that will impact on a placement, everything is taken into account.
Caring + connection is about more than bring people together – it is about bringing the right people together.
